The use of images or content made available by eCodicesNL requires proper acknowledgement of the source (see below)

For publications in print media, uncompressed TIFF images are available from the institution that manages the collection.

The use of metadata is generally protected by a Creative Commons Licence. Use of this metadata is permitted, provided that the appropriate source attribution is given.

Citations should take the following form:

Location, + library, + shelfmark, + page number (https://db.ecodices.nl/…).

Example:

The Hague, House of the Book, MMW 10 F 3, f. 12r (https://db.ecodices.nl/detail/2999/overview).

For web publications:

Permanent Handles for all our digital manuscript objects in the database are under construction. For quotation, please follow the guidelines above, with the addition of a hyperlink to the relevant Handle.
